The Stone Beloved. Six Poems From Dante Alighieri. Translated by Harry Duncan. Lithographs by Peter Nickel. Kairos Press, 1986. 52 pages. 10 x 14 inches. Designed by W. Thomas Taylor. Printed by Bradley Hutchinson, Nancy Ruppert, Elaine Smyth, and Tom Taylor from hand-set Romanée type. Edition bound by Craig Jensen.

Kairos Press was Tom Taylor's personal imprint for books that could be issued in a relaxed and unhurried manner, Kairos being the Greek for “appropriate time”, more or less. Harry Duncan's translations were hand-set in Romanée and printed on gray Rives BFK using a Vandercook #4 and Peter Nickel printed the lithographs at his own studio. Craig Jensen's quarter-vellum binding uses abaca paper from the University of Iowa for the sides and slipcase.
